How to Edit the Main Menu on SDP Platform

A website's main menu is critical for user navigation. This guide will walk you through the process of adding new menu items and linking them to specific pages or external URLs.

1. Accessing the Platform

Search: Open your browser and search for "SDP Platform".

Navigate: Select the official link, sdp-platform.com.

Log In: Click the Login button and use your preferred method, such as Login With Google.

2. Selecting Your Website

Once in the dashboard, click the Websites tab on the left sidebar.

Choose the specific website project you wish to modify from the list of available websites.

3. Navigating to Menu Settings

From your website's management dashboard, click on the Appearance tab in the left-hand menu.

Within the Appearance sub-menu, select Main Menu at the bottom of the list.

4. Adding a New Menu Item

Initiate: Click the + Add Menu Item button.

Labeling: In the new field (e.g., "Menu 4"), enter the text you want to appear in the navigation bar (e.g., "Tutorials").

Linking: In the URL field, enter the destination slug (e.g., /tutorials).

Sub-Menus: If you want to create a nested structure, you can click Add Child under any existing menu item to create a dropdown menu.

5. Publishing Changes

Auto-Save: The platform automatically saves your edits as you make them.

Go Live: To push the updated menu to your live site, click the black Publish button (featuring the animated yellow dot) in the top right corner.

Verification: You can verify the changes by clicking Preview or opening your live site URL in a new tab to see the updated navigation bar.

Pro-Tip

Ensure your menu labels are short and descriptive. If you have many pages, use the "Add Child" feature to keep your main navigation bar clean and organized.
